Omega Chemicals – Chemical Tank Replacement

22 September 2026 | Project & Insights

Mackay Rigging & Transport recently completed a chemical tank replacement for Omega Chemicals, managing the removal of the existing tank and positioning of its replacement.

The old chemical tank first needed to be carefully skated out from its existing position to an area where the crane could safely gain access. Once accessible, the tank was rigged and lifted by crane before being removed from site.

The replacement chemical tank was then lifted into position by crane. Due to the restricted access and final positioning requirements, our rigging team used come-alongs to carefully pull and manoeuvre the new tank into its final position.

The project involved a combination of mechanical skating, crane coordination, rigging and controlled positioning, allowing the tank changeover to be completed safely and efficiently.

Scope of Works

  • Removal and skating of existing chemical tank

  • Mechanical rigging and controlled movement

  • Crane coordination and lifting

  • Placement of replacement chemical tank

  • Come-along positioning for final alignment

  • Removal of the old tank from site

At Mackay Rigging & Transport, we specialise in mechanical rigging and skating solutions for equipment that can’t simply be picked up and placed—especially where access, space, and positioning are challenging.
